Psychometrician

Sam is a rising fourth-year School-Clinical Child Psychology doctoral student at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. Prior to her doctoral training, she received her bachelor’s degree in Child Studies and Psychology from Vanderbilt University. Following her first year in graduate school, Sam was trained by Dr. Yang during the summer as a clinical extern. Through her clinical experiences, Sam has developed a passion for providing neuropsychological assessments to children and adolescents. She utilizes a child-centered, strengths-based approach when working with children and their families. She has extensive experience conducting evaluations in a variety of settings including an elementary school, low-fee community clinic, private practice, and hospital with a variety of presenting concerns such as learning differences, ADHD, anxiety, behavioral challenges, and social and communication difficulties.
Sam just completed a clinical externship at The Center for ADHD, Learning Disorders, and Related Disabilities at Mount Sinai where she conducted extensive neuropsychological evaluations for individuals ranging from ages 6-30. For her next clinical externship, she is joining The Seaver Autism Center for Research and Treatment at Mount Sinai where she will continue to conduct comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations with a specific focus on children and adults on the autism spectrum. Sam is dedicated to helping children and their families navigate academic, attentional, and social-emotional challenges through neuropsychological evaluations, and she is thrilled to be working with Dr. Yang to support children and their families.
